Professional and Education

Jana is a licensed professional counselor and consultant and has helped thousands of people facing the psychological and social challenges of infertility as well as those preparing for third-party family building and adoption. She received a bachelor of science from Texas A&M University and a master of arts, in professional counseling from Amber University.

Jana's best-selling book, Three Makes Baby-How to Parent Your Donor-Conceived Child, introduced the field to the “five common fears” that parents-to-be face as they contemplate having a non-biological child. Thousands of readers around the world have trusted her work because Jana knows what it’s like to be in a non-biological family, as an adoptee and adoptive mom.

Jana also knows what it's like to experience infertility. She and her husband had secondary infertility and adopted their daughter from China. Since then Jana has helped thousands of people during their path to pregnancy, especially those preparing to grow their family in non-traditional ways. Working as an independent, Rupnow has fostered relationships with endocrinologists, agencies and fertility specialists across the United States.

Rupnow’s work, includes Three Makes Baby Podcast a podcast about fertility, family and genetics. "I encourage communication between donor conceived parents and donor conceived adults to raise awareness of the inherent challenges donor conceived families may face across the lifespan."

You can listen to over 70 episodes of interviews with donor conceived adults, recipient parents, parents on the journey to use a donor and experts on your favorite podcast platform or here.
